We put the latest rotary combine harvesters to the test during the wheat harvest. Read the results regarding fuel consumption, grain loss percentages, and overall reliability in the field.
Our field tests revealed that adjusting the concave clearance and rotor speed based on real-time moisture sensor data reduced grain damage by 4%. We also reviewed the automated header-height control systems, noting that the newer ultrasonic sensors reacted significantly faster to uneven terrain than traditional mechanical skid plates, allowing for higher harvesting speeds without digging into the dirt.
